Instagram now lets you add music soundtracks to Stories | Cult of Mac

Great music can turn crappy videos into a killer video and starting today, Instagram wants to make it way easier for you to up your music game on Instagram Stories.

Adding a soundtrack to Instagram Stories just got as easy as adding a sticker, GIF, or location. The app is rolling out an update today that gives users in 6 countries the ability to choose from thousands of licensed songs to put attach to your videos or photos.

The only way to add music to a Story before today was to edit the video clip in an editor like iMovie or Adobe Premiere. This gives everyone the ability to make quick awesome stories without bothering with extra apps.
As part of Facebook’s recent deal with record labels, users can use tracks from artists like Bruno Mars, Calvin Harris, Sam Mendes, Demi Lavato and hundreds of other artists. Instagram revealed today that 400 million active users on Stories every day. The new update should help push those numbers even higher
