The mission was realized in SEBC (Syrian Enterprise Business Centre http://www.sebcsyria.com) and the object of TOR was Assessment of SMEs’ needs to identify Training Needs of Local Consultants and preparing training competences based programs and materials. During the mission I’ve realized a market analysis respect the training offer in Damascus, a benchmarking with similar Institution in the country and in neighbour country. I’ve developed a need analyses form that was delivered to local Consultant. I’ve realized several interviews with local consultant and a couple of focus group. At the end of the mission I’ve presented the conclusion of my analysis and the training plan and programs to the SEBC staff during a workshop

This mission was the 3rd part of the project. The object of the TOR Set up the training and career development model for Local Consultants was developing an assessment center for SEBC. In this mission I’ve centered my activity in develop the skills catalogue in accordance with SEBC managers and training programs. Traditionally an assessment centre consisted of a suite of exercises designed to assess a set of personal characteristics, it was seen as a rather formal process where the individuals being assessed had the results fed back to them in the context of a simple yes/no selection decision. However, recently we have seen a definite shift in thinking away from this traditional view of an assessment centre to one which stresses the developmental aspect of assessment. In this mission I’ve decide to realize a workshops with local consultants that consist of a business scenario that was presented to them. The business scenario consists of a situation involving a client’s business, and the consultant had to comment on what advice he would gave the client in their current situation. The instructions I gave to the consultant were study the information provided, and then discuss the case study as part of the workshop. At the end I’ve defined a three stage training program to improve the knowledge and capacities of local consultants.
